How this SEO ROI calculator works
The calculator follows the same maths an agency uses to build a business case. It starts with the monthly search volume for your target keywords. It applies a click-through rate based on the ranking position you expect to reach, because position one on Google captures roughly 40% of clicks while position ten captures under 2%. It then applies your website conversion rate to estimate enquiries, and your average booking value and close rate to turn those enquiries into revenue. Subtract your monthly SEO investment and you have a projected return.
Three assumptions matter most. First, click-through rates are industry averages from large-scale studies, not guarantees. A strong title tag can beat them and a weak one can miss them. Second, the conversion rate defaults reflect what private jet charter websites typically achieve: between 0.5% and 2% of visitors submit an enquiry. Third, the model assumes rankings are held for the full period. Aviation keywords usually take six to twelve months to reach page one, so treat the first-year figure as a ramp, not a constant.
A worked example makes it concrete. Suppose you target keywords with 2,000 combined monthly searches and reach position three, which captures about 10% of clicks. That is 200 visitors per month. At a 1% conversion rate you receive two enquiries. If your average charter booking is worth £25,000 and you close one in four enquiries, that is £12,500 in monthly revenue attributable to search, or £150,000 per year. Against a £3,000 monthly SEO investment, the projected return is just over four to one. Higher booking values move the result quickly, which is why private jet SEO produces stronger returns than almost any other sector.
Use the output as a planning tool, not a promise. The honest way to read it is as a range: change the position assumption from three to five and see how the numbers move. If the business case survives the pessimistic case, the investment is sound.
